Divinitas [link] ~ Mythical Beasts Artwork Series 1/6

Well... I actually completed this artwork in 2007, but at that time I was really really really short of time, so I opted for not posting stuff on devART and ran to the printers to get these artworks printed for the convention on that weekend instead. XD So yes, about 2 years on, and finally, I'm posting it on devART!

The concept for this series of artworks was to incorperate the characters with their Divine Beasts... but yeah, for those of you who know Divinitas, you'd know only the Elemental Gods had Divine Beasts, but of course, I wanted to draw Aether and Casimir too (since at the time, I had planned for this series of artworks to be made in to a 2008 calendar, but that never happened and probably never will since 2008 has long passed and I still haven't finished 4-6 in the series at the time of posting this!) so I decided to call them Mythical Beasts to not confuse anyone who might be familiar with the story, and assigned them creatures that suited their personality (Aether got a big black serpent, and Casimir got a pretty winged unicorn!).

Anyway... this particular piece features Phoenix in his God form and his mythical beast, the phoenix. I drew him with his trademark defiant expression and double bladed sword because let's face it, I have a thing for swords and ukes who actually fight back because that means the seme can have so much more fun!

Phoenix's wings features the eyes in the tail feathers again, which I first drew in Moonlit Duel [link] . I somewhat really like that idea, and in another piece I'm working on, those eyes cry blood tears (well, Aether does have his katana shoved through Phoenix's leg in that one).
